It is often described as dull , radiating or throbbing and can range in severity from mild to extremely painful. While there are many possible causes of toothache , dull pain is usually associated with dental cavities or increased sensitivity caused by receding gums. Dull and persistent aches. This is the most common and “typical” tooth pain.
Again, pay attention to the duration and severity of the pain. But what do you do when you have problems with your gums ?
There are many reasons why your gums might hurt. But a lot of gum problems don’t cause pain right away. The possible reasons range from. One is low grade infection( either periodontal or tooth ). Another is exposed cementum from erosion or abrasion.
It actually refers to an infection of the gum tissue that is around your teeth. When left untreate the disease can cause persistent tooth loss and even degenerate the gums completely. Due to the bacterial infection, the gums fail to keep the teeth in place.
The tooth may recede and result in gaps and pockets,. Not all tooth pain is a throbbing pain. Some tooth problems cause sharp, shooting pain and some cause dull aches.
Adults can sometimes experience this type of discomfort if a tooth does not come through the gums as it shoul or more likely with the appearance of the wisdom teeth. Impacted teeth are sometimes a cause of gum pain in both adults and adolescents. Unless caused by genetics, you should generally be able to avoid having sore gums. I dont think i have a cavity because i am not having any major tooth pain.
They usually happen when you don’t brush or floss your teeth well or often enough. You might not feel pain at this early stage. If you don’t do a better job brushing and flossing, your gum disease could get worse. Over time, your gums might start to pull away from your teeth, creating little pockets. Cavities, especially if they penetrate the root of the tooth, can cause gum pain along the gum just below the affected tooth.
These ailments and problems commonly manifest as a toothache. Pain can occur immediately after the crown is placed or develop months to years later. Applying clove oil with a sterile cotton swab to the tooth cavity may help dull the pain. You can also use a soft dental pick to apply the oil by first dipping the pick into the oil and then gently sliding it between the teeth while massaging the gums.
For swollen gums , make a paste by mixing salt with ginger and a bit of water. The treatment for this is to rinse with Listerine, brush, and floss twice daily.
For weeks now i have been feeling minor dull aches on the left side of jaw and cheek. It radiates from the tooth to tooth to my wisdom teeth for a quick min. But it doesnt really disappear. I am able to eat and swallow. Minor headaches that come.
