Is rinsing your mouth with peroxide safe

Is it safe to rinse your mouth with peroxide? Does using peroxide help clean my mouth? Why should you rinse your mouth after using Qvar? Will rinsing with peroxide whiten my teeth?


There are many benefits to using hydrogen peroxide as a mouth rinse , and while it may not be a long-term solution, it can definitely help in with oral health care.

If you are unsure about using a hydrogen peroxide mouth rinse simply ask your dentist and they will advise on what will work best. In some instances, under the supervision of a dentist, he or she may ask you to rinse with a diluted solution of peroxide, but it is not something normally recommended do be done on your own. Use a toothbrush to apply the paste to your teeth using small circular motions for two minutes. Rinse your mouth every day with this mouth rinse to maintain a plaque-free oral environment. Leave the paste on your teeth for a few minutes.

Then, thoroughly rinse off the paste by swishing water around your mouth. There you have learnt basic steps on how to use hydrogen peroxide as mouthwash. Remember that there is no bad effects of using hydrogen peroxide as mouthwash that can happen if you dilute it properly.


Rinsing the mouth thoroughly with water after gargling the peroxide may help overcome this. You may also benefit from masking the flavor of the peroxide with mint. Hydrogen peroxide may have harmful effects such as diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and even death if swallowed in large quantities.
