Hereditary gum recession

There are several possible culprits behind receding gums , but genetics are definitely among the possible causes. In fact, research indicates that about percent of people are genetically susceptible to periodontal ( gum ) disease, which can cause gum recession. In those cases, the gums slowly recede , causing the person to feel sensitivity and pain. The bacterial inflammation causes teeth to lose support. Eventually the teeth will become loose and fall out.


Sometimes the infection becomes so severe that it can cause a tooth abscess.

Things like periodontal pockets, gum scaling, and even holes in the gums can occur. No, you don’t want to feel pain or lose your teeth.
