Toothache eye pain

Can a toothache cause a headache, earache, and eye pain? Is toothache the worst pain ever? Will a toothache eventually go away? Should you see a dentist for a toothache?


A toothache causing headache and eye pain can happen because the tooth’s nerves and eye nerves are connected together.

The tooth pain caused due to the problem with your upper teeth can lead to pain below your eye or in the orbit. So yes, dental problems can cause eye pain. Tooth infection – Infected tooth which has lead to an abscess or cyst or granuloma formation can lead to pain the ear which is called as referred pain.


The infection spreads and alters the surrounding hard and soft tissues like the ligaments, muscles etc which lead to Referred pain. See your dentist for evaluation x-rays and treatment. Tooth is composed of enamel and dentine.


Toothache often refers to pain around tooth or jaw. Usually food debris in mouth will turn to acid by chemical reaction of enzyme in saliva which will decay tooth.

The pain of dysfunction in the temporomandibular joint can also caused referred pain to affect the eye and eye socket. This seems to be predominantly caused by interference with the ocular ( eye ) nerves, particularly the tigeminal nerve. The trigeminal nerve goes to the teeth , jaw muscles,. A sinus infection can create pressure and pain in the mouth and cause a sinus tooth pain. Specifically, this is due to pressure and pain in the maxillary sinuses located behind the cheek bones.


Sinus tooth pain is often confused with other causes of tooth pain , including gum disease , tooth decay, or an impacted wisdom tooth. A toothache or tooth pain is most often caused when the nerve to a tooth is irritate but there are numerous other reasons for a person to experience tooth pain. It can be caused by sinus pressure and by drainage from sinus infections. The pain is usually felt in the upper rear teeth that are closest to the sinuses.


Simply put, a toothache is pain in or around a tooth. This is due to inflammation of the pulp and can be felt as sharp, short pains. Sometimes the pain presents as a dull throbbing. The pain of a toothache could be the result of hot, cold or sweet stimuli in the mouth says Lisa Taylor, a dentist writing for netdoctor.


When the decay of the tooth reaches the middle layer and spreads to the pulp, that’s the toothache feeling. The toothache is caused when the nerve or area associated with the nerve of the tooth are irritated which can be due to variety of reasons. There can be pain even after the extraction of concerened tooth.

It is one of the far back teeth. Anyhow, it does give me lots of pain and I will get it taken care of soon, but I was wondering if having a probelm in a tooth , can cause pain in an eye ? If ear infection pain radiates toward your teeth or jaw, over-the-counter pain medication that’s used for ear pain can help with mouth or tooth discomfort. My eye tooth has been hurting for, I swear ten years! No one can find anything. I want to say sorry for what you are going through!


Tooth pain resulting from problems with the upper teeth may present as pain in the orbit or below the eye. I have major headaches and eye pain. Traumatic events, such as a penetrating injury to the eye , a blow to the eye with a foreign object, and motor vehicle collisions, are causes of significant eye pain and injury.
