Tooth infection sore throat

Will an an infected tooth cause a sore throat? How dangerous is an infected tooth? What causes tooth infection?

A wisdom tooth infection may feel like a sore throat and may even be accompanied by swollen lymph node glands as if you had a common cold. Spoke to the dentist and was instructed to continue antibiotic and salt water rinses.
